Channel Islands Harbor  Here shows an aerial view of the Channel Islands Harbor. To the foreground shows Silverstrand Beach just below the harbors mouth. To the north of the harbor mouth lies Hollywood Beach.

  These two green maps locate the three public harbors encompassed by our USCGAux Division 7, and points out their precise locations in relation to the southern California coastline.  Included in this division are Santa Barbara Harbor, Ventura Harbor and Channel Islands Harbor, as well as the military and commercial use harbor at Port Hueneme (port is pictured, but not listed. It is located about one mile south of Channel Islands Harbor)

Port Hueneme is a restricted military and commercial shipping port, and not open to public boating. Wayward private boats mistakenly turning into this port may be greeted by armed military escorts and subject to 'boarding and search'! But all are welcomed at the Point Hueneme lighthouse which is open for tours and proves to be a favorite area activity!

There are many great water activities here in division 7, including beach, ocean and freshwater! You can haul your trailer boat to visit Lake Casitas, for camping, freshwater fishing and skiing! Lake Casitas is near Ojai, north up highway 33 from Ventura.

Another fresh lake in our division is Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara.

The actual Channel Islands themselves (including Anacapa, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz and San Miguel Islands) can be visited by kayakers, whale watchers and hikers through one of the many commercial public boat trips that can be found leaving any of our local harbors. Many daily boating excursions head out to the Channel Islands. You can get more information about these islands by going to the pages for the Channel Islands 

The Channel Islands Harbor is the home to Coast Guard Station Channel Islands, and the United States Coast Guard Channel Islands Recruiting Center on South Victoria Avenue. The Recruiting Center is where most of the division 7 flotilla meetings and functions are held.

 Here to the left shows an aerial view of the Ventura Harbor which is located at the south end of Spinnaker Drive, off of Harbor Blvd.  This harbor is about a 15-20 minute drive north on Harbor Blvd. from the Channel Islands Harbor located in Oxnard.

 Ventura Harbor Village boasts many great restaurants, exciting shops and has an active public marina with rented slips of all sizes.

Many special events open to the public are held year' round here. You can visit the Coast Guard Auxiliary promotional booth at many of these activities!
